Can I park my car at Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin?
Yes, the hotel has a limited number of parking spaces. 
You can park free of charge in the public car park before the barrier. From 17 June 2026, parking on the private grounds of Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin, beyond the barrier, will be chargeable. Both options are subject to availability.

In Wijk aan Zee there is free parking all year round with the exception of:

  • The streets marked in red, this requires a parking permit from Friday 19:00 to Sunday 24:00.
  • During fine weather, the Dorpsweide is opened, indicated by signs. The daily rate for parking in the Dorpsweide is €4.00.

Yes, children up to and including 14 years stay at a reduced rate. The discount depends on the room type:

  • In a double room: no child discount

What are the check-in and check-out times at Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin?

Your room is available from 3pm on the day of arrival. Check out is possible until 10.30am. You can then use our parking lot until noon.

Are you staying in the suite of Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin? Then you have until 12.00 to check out.

Is breakfast included at Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin?

Breakfast is included during your stay at Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin. It is not possible to book a room without breakfast. The breakfast buffet is available:

  • Monday to Friday: 6am-10.30am.
  • On Saturday and Sunday: 7.30am-10.30am.
  • There are several walk-in times, this will be discussed at check-in.
I have mobility problems. Is Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin suitable for me?

Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin offers two spacious rooms for guests with limited mobility. These rooms are not completely step-free, but they are extra spacious for added comfort. Our hotel is located on top of a dune. If you use a wheelchair or have difficulty walking, we recommend travelling by car.

Do you need a wheelchair-accessible hotel room or apartement?
At Hotel Zuiderduin and at Appartementen de Egmonden in Egmond aan Zee, you will find
wheelchair-accessible rooms and apartements with the necessary adaptations for a carefree stay.

Can I bring my dog to Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin?

Yes, your four-legged friend is very welcome at our hotel! Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin offers a selection of dog-friendly rooms: Standard Room / Land View Room / Sea View Room / Sea View Room (3 Persons).

Before making a reservation, we kindly ask you to contact us first to discuss whether the rooms where dogs are allowed are available.

  

To ensure a pleasant and comfortable stay for all our guests, we kindly ask you to observe the following guidelines:

  • Dog-free areas*
    While dogs are welcome in selected guest rooms, they are not permitted in our restaurant, Skybar, sauna and fitness facilities, or on our terrace.
  • Leaving your dog in the room
    Your dog may stay in your room unattended while you remain in the hotel. For example, while you enjoy breakfast, dinner, a drink in the Skybar, or some relaxing time in our wellness facilities.
  • When leaving the hotel
    We kindly ask that you do not leave your dog alone in the room when you leave the hotel (for example, for a day at the beach, a cycling trip, or a shopping excursion). As the owner, you should therefore always remain on the hotel premises whenever your dog is left unattended in the room.

  

*Assistance dogs are, of course, welcome in all areas of the hotel.

We would like to point out the following:

  • Pets other than dogs are not allowed in the hotel.
  • Subject to availability.
  • A maximum of two dogs are allowed per room.
  • There is an extra charge: €20.00 per dog per night*.
  • Dogs are not allowed in: the restaurant, the Skybar, sauna and fitness facilities and on the terrace.*
  • You must provide your own items such as: blanket/basket, food, food bowl, water bowl and poop bags.

  

Dogs on the beach

During the summer season (from 1 May to 1 October), dogs are not allowed on the activity beaches between 9am and 7pm. During this period, (unleashed) dogs are only allowed on the beach before 9am and after 7pm. Wijk aan Zee also has a special dog beach, in zone 2. Here your dog can run free all year round. In winter, you and your dog are welcome at the entire beach!

Is smoking allowed in the room?

No. The hotel is completely non-smoking. Smoking is not permitted in any of the rooms, facilities, or public areas.

What are the opening hours of Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin's facilities?
  • Restaurant:
    • Breakfast: Mon-Fri 6am-10.30am, Sat-Sun from 7.30am-10.30am. There are multiple walk-in times, this will be discussed at check-in.
    • Dinner: 6pm-9pm in 5 shifts. This will be discussed at check-in.
  • Sky bar:
    • Sun-Thu: 10:30am-midnight
    • Fri-Sat: 10:30am-1am.
  • Wellness area: open daily from 4pm-10pm. Please reserve a time on arrival.

How do I reserve the sauna at Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin?

Due to limited availability, you should make a reservation, this can be done at reception.

Does Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin have a bicycle parking area?

Yes, this can be opened with the room pass. The parking has availability for a limited number of bikes, but it cannot be reserved.

*There is no camera surveillance, the hotel is not responsible for damage and theft.

How do I get access to the fitness area of Strandhotel Het Hoge Duin?

You do not need to make a reservation to use the fitness, you can access the space via your room pass. Guests aged 13 and over are welcome. Children under 18 years only when accompanied by an adult.

What should I do if I receive a suspicious message regarding a booking made through an external website?
Did you book through a platform such as Booking.com or Expedia? If so, all communication and payments must go through the secure environment of that platform. We will never send you a separate email or WhatsApp message for this.

How do I recognise a fraudulent message?
  • The sender: Check the email address, the sender's name, and the country code of the phone number (+31).
  • The language: Look out for spelling mistakes, unusual phrasing, or unprofessional language.
  • The tone: We will never ask you for information or payments using an urgent, demanding, or threatening tone.
